In the Sitting Room it can influence the design of the room. With interesting ornaments and sophisticated lamps it will easily become an important focal point. Against the wall you can hang a picture or mirror above it. Place it against the back of a sofa (make sure it is neither longer nor higher than the sofa), stand a pair of lamps at either end and you have provided an excellent and comfortable reading area.
In the Dining Area it can act as a sideboard for serving food and, once more, with drawers, will store mats, candles and cutlery.
In the Kitchen it can take the place of a dresser, holding kitchen equipment, recipe books, a lamp and a phone.
In the Bedroom it can act as a side table with lamp and decorative ornaments or, with a mirror above, a dressing table.
Decide where you need such a table and, according to your requirements, what style it should be. Lastly, do be sure that you have measured the space where you intend to place it.
