This handsome design was popular in 17th century Tuscany, Italy but ours is unpainted showing the grain of the cedar wood and the serpent-shaped front, flat sides and back which are simply carved. It has 4 cabriole legs and 3 capacious drawers with 6 brass drop-handles and a jet black painted top resembling faux marble.
Due to its clean lines, beautiful curves and sturdy form it is adaptable for use in either a bedroom, dining room, sitting room or hall. The Casablanca (sand colour) coffee and side tables complement this handsome piece perfectly. Our Facade or Star lamps look wonderful on it with the painted sand-coloured Pompadour or red-coloured Bordeaux mirror above it. It also sits well with more contemporary styles such as our lacquerware, to create an exciting look of 'old and new'.
